What we do
The WSC promotes participation and improve visibility of the international standards system.
Standardization Programme Coordination Group (SPCG)
Cooperation between IEC, ISO and ITU has resulted standards that have fundamentally changed the digital landscape. From standards like MPEG that enables us to store, transfer and stream video files to the universal standard for mobile phones that significantly reduced the number of different mobile phone chargers and helped decrease e-waste.
We’re committed to continuing to work together to make a digital difference.
AI and Multimedia authenticity standards (AMAS)
The AI and Multimedia authenticity standards collaboration is a global initiative committed to combating deepfakes, fighting misinformation and protecting the integrity of information. We aim to build trust in the rapidly evolving field of AI-generated and altered media by encouraging the development of robust standards and supporting policies that promote transparency, accuracy and accountability.
World Standards Day
Each year on 14 October, the members of IEC, ISO and ITU celebrate World Standards Day, which is a means of paying tribute to the collaborative efforts of the thousands of experts worldwide who develop the voluntary technical agreements that are published as International Standards.
